Leader of the Telugu Desam Party, Nara Chandrababu Naidu was arrested on September 9th at 6 am as he was camping at Nandyal during his statewide tour.
The Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department or the APCID had made him Accused number one in the alleged AP Skill Development scam. He was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody and sent to Rajahmundry central jail by a special ACB court.
The allegation against the former chief minister was that he had colluded in a Rs 371 crore alleged scam which was allocated towards an ambitious skill development program.
The Lede spoke with Dr PV Ramesh, the then Finance Secretary, who is now retired. Dr Ramesh explains clearly what transpired at the time and also states that the APCID was throwing allegations around without any evidence.
